POETRY OUT LOUD
Fall 2011, LAMB Arts LTD will again be partnering with The Iowa Arts Council in spreading Poetry Out Loud Iowa across the state! As an IAC Poetry Partner, LAMB Arts LTD will work with IAC to promote poetry in the state, provide professional development and workshop opportunities to teachers and students in our region and be the local contact for POL activities.
The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation created Poetry Out Loud, which encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. This exciting program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage. Poetry Out Loud is a national contest with the national finals held in our nation's capital concluding with winners receiving generous prize packages.

2nd YEAR! LAMB Arts claims another state of Iowa Poetry Out Loud Champion!
Grace Rants, daughter of Christopher and Trudy Rants and a sophomore at East High School earned the Iowa Championship and will be heading to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Poetry Out Loud competition in April 2011. She joins former LAMB student -now University of Nebraska/Lincoln pre-medicine/theatre major John-Emmett Mahon, last year's Poetry Out Loud Iowa Champion.
